About Croydon Parent Carer Forum

Find out what a Parent Carer Forum (PCF) is, and how it can help ensure the views and experiences of families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) are represented in the London Borough of Croydon.

What is a Parent Carer Forum?

A parent carer forum is a group of parents and carers of disabled children. We aim to make sure the services in this area meet the needs of disabled children and their families.

In England there are parent carer forums in almost all local authority areas. This page on the Contact website has more information about PCFs and contact details for lots of them.

Who do you represent?

A diverse range of parent carer views and experiences in Croydon. There are 10,000 families with children and young people with special needs and disabilities, resident in the London Borough of Croydon.

How does it work?

The Croydon Parent Carer Forum (CPCF) is an independent, voluntary group of parents and carers of children and young people (0-25) with special/additional needs and disabilities (SEND) living in the London Borough of Croydon.

The CPFC Steering Group, made up of a smaller group of volunteers, meets regularly to plan and coordinate activities and involvement in consultations and co-production, as well as to discuss and act on issues arising from the wider Croydon SEND community.

Together with other organisations in Croydon, the Parent Carer Forum provides opportunities for parents and carers to express their views and input into the planning and delivery of SEND services. We also encourage parents and carers to share and feed back on their experiences, to improve them in future.

We aim to ensure that service providers are accountable to the families which use them, and empower families to obtain the best possible support and services for their children.
